Drake Announces First Book of Poetry: 'Titles Ruin Everything'

Drake is venturing into the world of poetry.

The artist took to Instagram on Friday to announce that his book labeled, “TITLES RUIN EVERYTHING A STREAM OF CONSCIOUSNESS BY KENZA SAMIR & AUBREY GRAHAM,” is set to release on Saturday via his merchandise sitedrakerelated.com and other select retailers. The poetry book is in collaboration with frequent songwriting partner Kenza Samir.

“I don’t know if I have ever wanted people to buy or support something more in my life,” Drake wrote in his post alongside a photo of a blue book covered in title text from the back to the front cover.

Drake teased the project last summer during the debut episode of hisradio show Table For One, which premiered before the release of his seventh studio album,Honestly, Nevermind. “Thank you to everybody who helped me with this. Shout-out to Kenza. Kenza, I love you. I want to send you some love,” he said at the time. “Me and Kenza have a book coming out this year — we have a book coming out this year, a poetry book.” Drake has worked with the Toronto poet on several works including his 2015 solo mixtapeIf You’re Reading This, It’s Too Late.

The new project follows Her Loss, a collaborative LP that saw Drake and 21 Savage come together for the third of a trilogy of records afterCertified Lover BoyandHonestly, Nevermind.

Drake recently appeared on the season finale of Dave, a celebrity-packed episode that included Brad Pitt and Rachel McAdams. The Canadian rapper also featured on Afroswing track “Who Told You” with J Hus earlier this month, anddropped “Search & Rescue” and joined Popcaan on “We Caa Done” earlier this year.

The upcomingBET Awards on June 25 listed Drake among the artists with the most nominations including Glorilla, Lizzo, and21 Savage. Drake’s seven nominations include Album of the Year, Best Male Hip Hop Artist, and Viewer’s Choice Award, among others, and he shares several of them with 21 Savage.
