Elon Musk says he will create an AI video game studio

Musk says xAI will 'make games great again.'

Elon Musk has spoken at length about his enjoyment of video games and will apparently look to create a game of his own. He has announced that his company xAI will form its own video game studio.

Elon Musk announced his intention to form an xAI game studio in a post on X. “Too many game studios that are owned by massive corporations,” he wrote. “@xAI is going to start an AI game studio to make games great again!”

Musk did not provide any additional information about the game studio. It’s also unclear what kind of games he’d like to make, or who would be part of the development team.

  AI may well have applications in game development, but starting a studio where your only idea is that you're going to use a lot of AI is ridiculous. It's the same flawed thinking that has created so many doomed AI startups. New tech is not a substitute for needing to have an actual interesting idea.

  AI is not going to ground up create a game. I’m using a ton of AI on my new game but that’s for prototyping and generating art and music.

      I could compose the music myself but that would take a lot of time that I don’t have as a solo dev. People don’t care that much about music anyway.

  Great! I've been looking forward to have a new AAA developer that really had the funding and talent to churn out garbage AI games like Stepsister's Pussy. If there's one thing we're missing this generation, it's big name, low effort clones. Back on the C64 you could easily rip off R-Type, call your bootleg Katakis, and be considered a classic. I can't wait to see innovations like Tesla Kart and Player Elon's Battlegrounds.
