John Mulaney‘s new live talk show has set its debut and its self-explanatory title, Everybody’s Live in L.A. With John Mulaney.
“We will be live globally with no delay. We will never be relevant. We will never be your source for news,” the comedian said during a Hollywood media event on Wednesday. “We will always be reckless. Netflix will always provide us with data that we will ignore.” According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show will run for 12 weeks and release on the streamer on March 12.
Similar to Mulaney’s 2024 six-episode runof Everybody’s in L.A, the latest iteration will be shot in the city and feature an array of eclectic guests. “This will be the one place where you could see Arnold Schwarzenegger sitting next to Nikki Glaser sitting next to a family therapist with music by Mannequin Pussy,” said Mulaney. “That’s just a brief sampling of guests. We don’t know if we can lock in Mannequin Pussy, but we are in talks with them.”
“This is a really fun experiment,” he quipped. “Not since Harry and Meghan has Netflix given more money to someone without a specific plan.”
Everybody’s in L.A featured top comedians from Will Ferrell, Jerry Seinfeld and David Letterman to the lead prosecutor in the O. J. Simpson case, Marcia Clark, and Flea. “I feel like this entire show is a Banksy!” Jon Stewart remarked while on the show, while Nikki Glaser told Mulaney, “It’s like an inside joke that only you are in on.”
