After winning the top unscripted prize at the Emmys this fall, Peacock’s murderous reality series The Traitors teases its third season, which premieres Jan. 9. In a new trailer, Vanderpump Rules’ Tom Sandoval makes a case for his credibility, “People are taking me seriously”; RuPaul’s Drag Race’s Bob the Drag Queen clamors for the “Employee of the Month” title; and the show’s theatrical host Alan Cumming continues to stir up drama.
Set in the Scottish Highlands, the third season of The Traitors‘ premiere will be a three-episode event, followed by new episodes on Thursdays weekly. The finale and reunion arrives March 6 on Peacock. For cable users, NBC will air the first two episodes of Season Three on Jan. 20.
In the forthcoming season, fans of the nail-biting series can anticipate Selling Sunset’s Chrishell Stause, Britney Spears’ ex Sam Asghari, and Zac Efron’s younger brother Dylan to compete in a game of skill and deceit. The series also features severalReal Housewivesstars, including Dorinda Medley and Chanel Ayan; Survivor contestants like Carolyn Wiger and Tony Vlachos; Big Brother contestants Britney Haynes and Danielle Reyes);and Bachelor franchise stars Wells Adams and Gabby Windey.
The Traitors draws inspiration from the 2021 Dutch show De Verraders, which was adapted in the U.K. the following year. The reality TV series premiered in the U.S. with its charismatic host, Cumming, in 2023. Each season follows a similar premise: A select group of contestants are designated as Traitors who must work to eliminate the remaining contestants. Viewers know who the Traitors are, but the remaining cast, known as the Faithfuls, do not. If the Faithfuls sleuth out all the Traitors, they can win a cash prize of up to $250,000. If the Traitors successfully eliminate all the Faithfuls, they will share the prize.
In the second season of The Traitors, which featured a backstabbing finale episode, cast members included Real Housewivesstars Phaedra Parks and Larsa Pippin;Love Islandcontestants Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Carsten “Bergie” Bergersen; The Bachelor’s Peter Weber; and John Bercow, a member of U.K. Parliament.
