Freakier Friday sees Lohan and Curtis reprise their roles as Tess and Anna Coleman, who swap bodies in the original Freaky Friday. Of course, since this isn’t just Freaky, it’s Freakier, director Nisha Ganatra and writer Jordan Weiss up the ante with a four-way body-swap.
Mark Harmon, Chad Michael Murray, and others reprise their roles from the original, while the sequel adds Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons, and Manny Jacinto. The sequel also has a nod to Lindsay Lohan’s other Disney classic, The Parent Trap, in both plot and casting. Elaine Hendrix (Meredith Blake in the 1998 film) makes an appearance as a Rolling Stone editor.
“Freakier Friday, directed by Nisha Ganatra, is a charming love letter to Lohan and her generation, and marks the actress’ official comeback,” wrote Angie Martoccio in the Rolling Stone review of the film. “So get in, loser. We’re going to the Lohanaissance.”
The home release will also include extras like deleted scenes and featurettes, and you can check out an exclusive deleted scene from the bonus features below, featuring Lohan and Elaine Hendrix.
