“And, baby, that’s show business for you,” Taylor Swift wrote online to debut the album cover for her new LP The Life of a Showgirl, officially out now (Oct. 3, 2025). As Swift wrote on her Instagram, the album is produced by previous Swift collaborators Max Martin, Shellback, along with Swift herself. Photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl marks the follow-up to the singer’s 2024 LP The Tortured Poets Department.
In the official Rolling Stone review (which earned five out of five stars), editor Maya Georgi said of the album, “With her 12th studio album, the musician shoots into a fresh echelon of superstardom — and hitsallher marks.”

I’d have three days off,” Swift said of writing The Life of a Showgirl during her time on the Eras Tour in Europe. “I’d fly to Sweden, go back to the tour, and was actually working on this. I was physically exhausted at this point in the tour, but I was so mentally stimulated and so excited to be creating.”
