History of Air Jordans
When the first Air Jordans hit the court in 1984, they broke away from the conventional look of basketball shoes, which had been almost entirely white. Their bold colorways drew the ire of the NBA, which deemed them a distraction and banned them, fining Michael Jordan $5,000 every time he wore them during a game.
