Just picked up a new iPhone 15? You’ll still want to invest in a quality iPhone case. Apple is touting the iPhone 15’s durability, but, as with previous “more durable” models, the iPhone 15 is still very much prone to scratching and even shattering if dropped (that goes for the titanium iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max too).
In terms of dimensions, the iPhone 15 is almost identical to the 14 and 13, so your old case might fit your new phone. However, Apple switched up the buttons on the 15s by adding a new programmable action button in place of the old mute/unmute toggle, so, while it might fit, that old case might not work. Plus, we always enjoy getting a fresh case to match a new phone anyway.

Spigen Ultra Hybrid MagFit
Editor’s Pick
Spigen’s Ultra Hybrid MagFit is a no-frills iPhone 15 case that just gets it all right. The hard plastic material is durable but feels good in hand, and the dimensions — which include raised protective lips around the camera and screen — are correspondingly protective yet slim. As the name suggests, the case is also compatible with your phone’s MagSafe back. Best of all, the Spigen case offers serious value: It’s typically priced around $20.

Nomad Modern Leather Case
Leather Case
Apple has stopped making leather cases (it now offers not-so-well-received FineWoven cases), so you’ll have to go to another brand for a leather case. Luckily, there are some great ones; Nomad is one of them, offering cases made with full grain or upgraded Horween leather. Both options feel soft and high-quality and look great. Inside the leather is a TPE bumper that effectively protects your phone from drops and a MagSafe magnet.

Apple iPhone 15 Clear Case with MagSafe
Apple-Branded
The Apple-branded Clear Case is another excellent option for your iPhone 15. A common issue with cheap clear cases is yellowing, but long-term users of Apple’s clear cases report almost no yellowing — even after years of use. The surfaces are scratch-resistant, and, as expected, it’s MagSafe compatible too.

Casely Wild West Adventure
Fun Print
If you’re looking for something a little more fun, check out Casely. They have a huge selection of iPhone 15 cases — most of which showcase playful, stylish prints like this “Wild West Adventure” case. But it’s not all looks: The case also has MagSafe and provides ample protection from everyday drops and bumps.

Apple iPhone 15 Silicone Case with MagSafe
Silicone Case
Another great iPhone 15 case from Apple is this silicone case. The material has a great feel — not too grippy or too smooth — and it comes in several stylish colors like “cypress,” “guava,” and “orange sorbet.” The case also has MagSafe capabilities and features a microfiber lining inside to improve protection.

Smartish iPhone 15 Magnetic Case
Budget-Friendly
Another great option for those on a tight budget is this Smartish iPhone 15 Magnet Case. The long-time iPhone case purveyor has been around for more than a decade, and these years of expertise come through in the latest iPhone case. The case’s material adds some grip (but it’ll still slide in and out of pockets easily) and plenty of protection against the common drops and scrapes. Plus, you get some great color options to choose from.

OtterBox Commuter Series Case
Ultra-Durable
OtterBox is another well-known, longstanding iPhone case brand. They’re all about durability, but they’ve slimmed down quite a bit since the bulky, namesake boxy cases of early iPhones. New OtterBox cases, like this Commuter Series Case for iPhone 15, deliver upgraded shock-absorbing drop protection in a streamlined package. It only feels slightly larger than the above options, only it protects more effectively. The only downside is you do have to shell out a bit more, but it’s a small price to pay for more protection (especially if you’re prone to drops).

Burga Ivy League
Stylish Pick
Burga is another accessories brand with some stylish iPhone 15 cases. We’re big fans of this checkered “Ivy League” print, but the brand has a large assortment to pour over. For almost all their cases, Burga also lets you choose between a few different protection levels and MagSafe/no MagSafe for different prices.

Tumi Aluminum Case
Metal Case
We trust Tumi with our belongings while traveling, and we’d happily trust them with our phones too thanks to this iPhone case from the American brand. The case is made of sleek aluminum, like a hardside suitcase, but there’s also an anti-shock bumper around the outside to protect your phone from drops.

Gucci Ophidia GG Case
Luxury Pick
Designer brands can be slower to put out phone cases for new models, but Gucci is one of a few that already have iPhone 15 cases on the market. We’re big fans of their Ophidia case, which showcases the GG Supreme canvas in gray and black for a low-key yet instantly recognizable Gucci look.

Bellroy Phone Case
Card Holder Phone Case
Want to keep your cards close to your iPhone 15? Pick up this case from the leather experts at Bellroy. It features a streamlined flap that opens to reveal room for three cards, and the flap also doubles as a kickstand. As with all Bellroy products, the leather feels high-quality and the case is very protective thanks to polymer corners.
ESR iPhone 15 Case
Kickstand-Equipped
With 4.7/5 stars and over 4,300 reviews on Amazon, this ESR iPhone 15 case is one of the best-rated cases on the website. The zinc alloy and polycarbonate material is durable and comfortable to hold, but the case’s real draw is its smartly integrated kickstand. Instead of flipping out from the bottom of the case (and being visible all the time), the kickstand is discreetly integrated into the camera ring. This improves camera protection and makes the whole case look better.

BTS x Casetify Cases
Army Pick
Want to show your support for your fandom? Head to Casetify. The brand has collaborated with dozens of TV shows, movies, and musicians from Star Wars to Jean-Michel Basquiat. Their latest release? A collection of BTS iPhone cases — all celebrating different tracks from the K-Pop group.

Personalized iPhone 15 Case
Customizable
Want to personalize your iPhone case? Pick up this customizable TPU clear case on Amazon, which lets you add your one photo to the back of the case. It comes very highly rated on Amazon with 4.5/5 stars and over 2,600 reviews; users say the image quality is very clear and the case looks great overall.
How We Chose the Best iPhone 15 Cases
iPhone cases are a fairly straightforward product, but there’s a surprising range of quality between all the options out there. Some cases are made of more durable materials than others, some just feel better in your hand, and others have unique features (like the ESR case’s kickstand).
Below are some of the things we considered when testing and researching all the best iPhone 15 cases.
Material/Durability: Material quality and durability are of course the most important factors to consider when shopping for the best iPhone 15 case. We chose cases that can (typically) withstand the usual drops from around 4-6 feet. And, whether it be plastic, silicone, or leather, we made sure to read long-term customer reviews to find out if the material ages well (i.e. no yellowing plastic or deteriorating leather).
Buttons: The way the buttons work on iPhone cases often gets overlooked — probably because it’s something you have to feel in person. In our testing, we fiddled with the action button, volume, and sleep button to make sure they were still easy to use (and didn’t get pressed accidentally) with the case on.
MagSafe Compatibility: Since the 12, iPhones have had a ring of magnets in the back that stick to compatible accessories like wireless chargers. You’ll want to find a case that supports MagSafe accessories; these cases are typically identifiable by a metal ring around the Apple logo location.
