Disney announced that Snow White will be streaming on digital platforms on May 13, with a physical media release slated for June 24. The film reimagines the 1937 animated film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and follows Disney releases like Mufasa and The Little Mermaid in revisiting Disney’s animated classics.

Directed by Marc Webb, Snow White stars Rachel Zegler, Andrew Burnap, and Gal Gadot. Zegler plays Snow White with Gal Gadot as the evil stepmother, and while the broad strokes of the 1937 and 2025 films are the same — the magic mirror, the poisoned apple — key details have been modernized, including a reimagining of the romantic subplot.

Save for “Heigh-Ho” and “Whistle While You Work,” the music is new, too. Benj Pasek and Justin Paul wrote the original songs; the songwriting duo, better known as Pasek and Paul, are EGOT winners who wrote Dear Evan Hansen and La La Land.

The physical release will include bonus features, such as deleted scenes and a behind-the-scenes look at the film’s production. You can check out an exclusive behind-the-scenes making-of clip for “All Is Fair”, performed by Gal Gadot, below. The Blu-ray will include a SteelBook release, while the film will feature Dolby Vision and Atmos.

Notably, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is the first film ever produced by Disney Animation Studios, and the remake was a long time in the making. Zegler was cast in 2021, but the film was originally announced in 2016. The film was subject to backlash, partly due to Zegler’s outspoken views, although critics praised her performance overall.

The latest Disney animated film to get a live-action remake is Lilo & Stitch, which is directed by Dean Fleischer Camp (Marcel the Shell with Shoes On), and will be in theaters on May 23.
