The recent Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees are known for their unique jazz influence on rap, and the Homage x ATCQ collection pays tribute to their journey and influence on today’s culture. The new drop is available now on Homage.com with prices ranging from $34 to $74, and features ATCQ’s spin on popular NBA teams including the Knicks, Celtics, Timberwolves, 76ers, Cavaliers, and more. The other half of the collection focuses on the hip-hop group itself (like this shirt for their single “Bonita Applebum”).
“I came to the music of A Tribe Called Quest as a young guy, a short guy who played basketball—streetball—on the East Side of Columbus, Ohio,” says New York Times best-selling author Hanif Abdurraqib in a video for Homage about the collection. “What I loved about A Tribe Called Quest is the same thing I loved about what pushed me to thrive on the basketball court. You have to be inventive. You have to be innovative. You have to see a hundred different things inside of one thing. For me, there’s not just one move. There’s a movement that opens up several other movements.”

The exclusive tees are not only for repping your favorite team, but feature some of ATCQ’s most famous tracks — like “We on award tour” from “Award Tour”, “I’m above the rim” from “Electric Relaxation”, “Represent, represent” from the song “Steve Biko (Stir It Up)”, and of course, “Can I Kick It?” (yes, you can!). This drop comes off the heels of the group’s recent collaboration with De La Soul called “sh.Fe.Mc’s”, which will be featured on the six-track EP reissue of the rareClear Lake Audiotorium, set to release on March 7 (available to pre-order now).
