Addison Rae Gets Murdered in 'Monster: The Ed Gein Story' Trailer

Addison Rae is no stranger to stealing scenes in horror projects. The TikTok star turned actress turned pop star is back to acting again with Monster: The Ed Gein Story, playing one of the infamous murderer’s alleged victims.

Premiering on Netlfix Oct. 3, The Ed Gein Story is the third installment of Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan’s true crime anthology series, following seasons on Jeffrey Dahmer and the Menendez Brothers. Sons of Anarchy‘s Charlie Hunnam will star as Gein and Laurie Metcalf will portray his mother, with whom Gein shared a strangely close relationship.

Rae is billed as playing Evelyn Hartley, a teen girl who went missing in 1953. Gein denied involvement in Hartley’s murder and among the many traces of human remains in Gein’s home (most of which were from exhumed corpses at local graveyards), Hartley’s were not found. In the trailer, which is soundtracked by Pet Shop Boys’ “It’s a Sin,” the show makes Hartley one of Gein’s victims. Rae is seen tied up to a chair in presumably Gein’s basement, stripped down to her undergarments and crying.

Rae made her acting debut in 2021’s He’s All That, a gender-swapped remake of the classic teen film She’s All That. She later starred in 2023’s Thanksgiving, a slasher film directed by Eli Roth. Since then she has focused on her pop career, signing to Columbia Records last year and debuting well-received singles like “Diet Pepsi” and “Aquamarine.” She released her debut album Addison in June and launched her first-ever tour last month.

Next year, Rae will star in the hybrid live-action and animated comedy Animal Friends alongside Ryan Reynolds, Jason Momoa, Aubrey Plaza, and Daniel Levy.
