Prior to a string of shows for Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter tour in Atlanta, Georgia, hard drives containing the singer’s unreleased music, footage plans for her show, and past and future set lists were reported stolen to Atlanta police.
According to a police report filed on July 8 and obtained by Rolling Stone, officers responded to a theft reported by Christopher Grant, a choreographer for Beyoncé, and Diandre Blue, a dancer for the singer. The pair said that they had parked a Jeep Wagoneer rental at Krog Street about 8 p.m. and that when they returned an hour later, the trunk window was damaged and two suitcases were missing. In a 911 call released by the Atlanta Police Department, while reporting the break-in, Grant noted, “They have my computers, and it’s really, really important information in there. I work with someone who’s like of a high status, and I really need my computer and everything.”
In the police report, Grant told the officers that he had been carrying “personal sensitive information for the musician Beyonce” and that hard drives for her upcoming show in Atlanta were also stolen. The hard drives contained “water marked music, some un-released music, footage plans for the show, and past and future set list,” according to the report.
A rep for Beyoncé did not immediately return Rolling Stone‘s request for comment, and Grant did not immediately respond.
Per officers, a pair of Air pod Max pros stolen from the vehicle were traced to a location redacted in the report. “I conducted a suspicious stop in the area, due to the information that was relayed to me,” an officer stated in the report. “There were several cars in the area also that the AirPods were pinging to in that area also. After further investigation, a silver (redacted), which had traveled into zone 5 was moving at the same time as the tracking on the AirPods.”
On July 15, Atlanta’s WSB-TV reported that police had issued an arrest warrant for a suspect who had not been named publicly by the agency nor charged with a crime. The news channel also reported that police had dusted the vehicle for fingerprints, but that’s it’s that served to identify any suspects.
On July 15, a representative for the Atlanta Police Department noted that no camera footage pertaining to the theft would be released and that interview requests would be denied. On July 14, a representative also said that the “the information released is preliminary in nature and could change as the investigation progresses or new information comes to light.”
A laptop, clothes, and a pair of designer sunglasses are among the additional items reported stolen.
