Charli XCX is letting you step into her shoes and make your own party 4 u with her new Converse “By You” collaboration. Available starting on Aug. 5, the collection centers around the around the silhouette she rocks in her own day-to-day life: the Chuck Taylor All Star.
Fans can now customize their own Chucks with Charli-coded details inspired by the star’s signature Brat era stylings. Starting with the upper, you’ll have the chance to explore a range of design choices, but unlike the bright neon green that defined the album, the colorway options stick to classic Black and White – staying true to Charli’s own Chucks. The kicks are also available as muted monochromes in colors like Brown Rice, Winter Sky, and Bridal Rose.

Converse had previously announced its partnership with Charli back in October with a holiday campaign that had the singer posing in her Chuck Taylor All Stars for a photoshoot captured by Sharna Osborne. “I wear my Chucks so much they have holes in them,” the singer said about the partnership in a statement. “So I was really excited to work with Converse so I could get a new pair. They’re iconic.” Charli is just one of many artists who have had their own shoes designed for the brand, including Tyler, the Creator, Billie Eilish, and more.
Each upper embraces worn-in details to mirror Charli’s own beat-up pairs, but Converse has used a trompe-l’œil technique, printed rips and discoloration to give them an authentically “battered” look while still maintaining the canvas’ timeless look and feel. That lived-in charm extends to the burnished foxing and midsole, along with a wash effect on the laces, too.

The Classic Chuck elements also lean into Charli’s lyrical references as well, with patch and license plate options like XCX, 365, angel, and Party Girl, and outsole offerings with “Party Girl” or “Brat” graphics. Each pair also comes with heel charms that reference the track “Unlock It” featuring a lock and key etched with “Brat.”
