Played a few rounds of Resurgence last night. The game is good again. Praise be. A year of dumb nonsense finally done with and we get back to what made WZ1 great.
New map seems solid, movement feels great, you can actually outplay people, you don’t have to spend ages trying to loot and squint to parse anything. Never let Infinity Ward touch a multiplayer mode again.

The entire client still stinks of caca doodoo battlebass GaaS exploitation money hat nonsense, and it's genuinely upsetting to see a glorified TDM mode become the defacto Call of Duty Multiplayer experience. There is so much potential for map and mission objectives and dynamic and emergent gameplay, but COD hasn't felt anything more than minimum viable product to me since Call of Duty 4.
COD is basically "Peer Pressure the SKU" in our circle. I'm willing to wager the majority of installs are not genuine conversions to play a fun video game, but friend tax people play in order to keep in touch with some of their circles.
