Harry Styles is, among other talents, a very fast runner. He hit the Berlin Marathon this weekend, notching an impressive sub-3-hour time of two hours, 59 minutes, and 13 seconds. It’s an improvement on his already impressive Tokyo Marathon time from March, which he completed in three hours and 24 minutes.
Styles ran the Berlin Marathon using a pseudonym, though the one he chose was unlikely to go unnoticed. He registered as Sted Sarandos, an apparent reference to Ted Sarandos, the co-CEO of Netflix.
Despite Styles’ seeming goal of flying (or running, as it were) under the radar, he still stopped for a photo op with Paralympic Gold medalist Richard Whitehead, who quipped, “Anyone know him” on Instagram. As for the final results, Kenya’s Sabastian Sawe and Rosemary Wanjiru won the men’s and women’s races, respectively.
Styles laced up the same sneakers he wore in Tokyo, albeit in a different colorway. His shoe of choice was the Nike Alphafly 3, a popular choice among marathon runners. The shoes retail for $295, and are available in men’s and women’s sizes.
The sneakers feature a carbon plate, which retains energy for a springy feeling, and they’re made from Nike’s Atomknit upper for breathability and support.
Beyond his low-key marathon appearances, Styles has had a quiet few years. He toured in support of Harry’s House in 2022 through 2023 and appeared in My Policeman and Don’t Worry Darling in 2022.
