Jason Isbell Announces 2025 Ryman Auditorium Residency

The fall tradition in Nashville continues. Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit have announced their 2025 residency at the Ryman Auditorium. The Americana singer-songwriter and his band will perform six shows in October, beginning Thursday, Oct. 16.

According to a release, this marks the 10th anniversary of Isbell and the 400 Unit’s residency at the famed Music City theater. Their first multi-night run began in 2014, and they played multiple shows each year since, excluding 2016 and, during the pandemic, 2020.

The residency is also notable for Isbell’s curation of his opening acts. In years past, he’s selected a lineup of LGBTQ performers, or all women artists. This year, he turns his attention to music students. A release states that Isbell has partnered with public schools and music programs throughout the southeast region to “highlight some of the educators and students working to shape the next generation of live music.”

Tickets for Isbell’s Ryman Auditorium residency go on sale Friday, June 20, at 10 a.m. on the Ryman’s website.

The residency follows a busy touring season for Isbell, who promoted his latest album, Foxes in the Snow, with a solo tour, including multiple nights at Nashville’s new venue, the Pinnacle. During recent shows with the 400 Unit, he notably hasn’t been performing his signature ballad “Cover Me Up,” off his 2013 breakout album Southeastern. Instead, according to set lists online, he’s been covering Bruce Springsteen’s 1984 song “Cover Me.”
