Ahead of their appearances on Saturday Night Live this weekend, Josh Brolin and Ariana Grande featured in a series of promos for the upcoming episode. Brolin is set to take on hosting duties while Grande will perform as the evening’s musical guest.
In one of the clips released Thursday, the pair were joined by cast member Chloe Fineman, who posed to Brolin: “I heard the rumor you were hooking up with your co-star.” The actor was quick to point out that he had simply written a poem for Timothée Chalamet (who plays Paul Atreides in sci-fi epicDune: Part Two) and “it wasn’t anything more than that.” In response, Grande quips, “I think she was taking about the sandworm.” Yes, that sandworm.
Elsewhere, Grande takes the opportunity to plug in her new album, Eternal Sunshine, which dropped Friday. As Fineman touts her excitement for the upcoming show, the singer cheekily insists, “Yes, And?”
Both Brolin and Grande will be returning to the SNL stage on March 9. Saturday marks Brolin’s first time hosting in 12 years — his first in October 2008 and second in April 2012.
Grande — who first performed onSNLin 2014 then served as bothhost andmusical guest in 2016—celebrates the recent release of her seventh studio album. Eternal Sunshine marks her first LP since 2020’sPositions. In the interim, the singer and actress has largely been busy filming themovie adaptation of the hit musicalWicked, with part one set to arrive Nov. 27.
