BTS member Jung Kook has dropped his highly-anticipated remix of “Standing Next to You,” which features Usher. The new version, which was teased earlier this week, of the hit single sees the pair sharing vocals as a duet.
A press release notes, “With the participation ofUsher, the remix adds a smooth tenderness to the original track’s energetic mood. The two iconic popstars create a special kind of sonic synergy with their top notch vocals that promises to be a standout hit.”
While this is the first time Usher has formally collaborated with a member of BTS, he was mentioned in their song “Butter,” with the lyrics, “Don’t need no Usher to remind me you got it bad.”
“Standing Next to You” is one of 11 tracks in Jung Kook’s debut solo albumGolden, which already includes the likes of Ed Sheeran, Shawn Mendes, and Major Lazer as songwriters and producers. The album, which was released earlier this month, also featuresLattoin “Seven,”Jack Harlowin “3D,”Major Lazerin “Closer to You,” and DJ Snake in “Please Don’t Change.” Like “Standing Next to You,” “3D” has a remix of its own featuring Justin Timberlake.
Jung Kook and fellow BTS members RM, Jimin, and V will begin serving their mandatory military duty in South Korea next month. In aletter on WeVerse last week, Jung Kook announced an update on his enlistment.
