The collector’s figure comes ahead of Ken’s 65th anniversary in 2026, but the release date also coincides with the 45th anniversary of the first Black Barbie.The four-time NBA champ’s Kenbassadordoll will be available at select Target stores and online at Target.com, Walmart, and Mattel Creations on Monday, April 14, at 12:00 AM ET. In an Associated Press-produced video of James seeing the doll for the first time, the King expressed his approval, calling the doll “dope” and adjusting the accessories. “OK, now we ready,” James said. “I mean, he might need to do a little lifting. Legs look a little skinny. Little frail-y little fellow. Nah, that’s dope.”
This Kenbassadors doll also has a good cause behind it: advancing early childhood literacy, a cause close to James’ heart. For every Barbie Signature LeBron James Kenbassador doll sold at Target stores and Target.com between April 14 and 19, 2025 (up to 5,000 copies), Mattel will donate a copy of his children’s book, I Am More Than, to Save the Children, which helps children in the U.S and around the world have a healthy start in life.
