“Run, Forrest, Run!”
If you’ve always wanted to feel like Tom Hanks in the 1994 Academy Award-winning film Forrest Gump, now’s your chance. On January 24, Nike released a special edition of their iconic Cortez sneaker inspired by the film (Hanks is famously seen wearing these shoes during his three-year run), and while you won’t have to travel 15,000 miles to get a pair, you’ll want to act fast.

This release is a collaboration with Phoenix Suns shooting guard Devin Booker. These old-school-cool sneakers are Booker’s first signature basketball shoe (which he debuted on the court last year) and come in a recognizable colorway of white, varsity red, and varsity blue.
Retailing for $140, the ‘Book 1 Forrest Gump’ Cortez sneaker is made with a combination of high-quality real and synthetic leather. It features intricate detailing that pays homage to the original Cortez design, which was first introduced in 1968 by Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman. The sneakers are available in both men’s and women’s sizes, ranging from 4 to 16, and they’re comfortable enough to wear during a cross-country marathon or while sitting in a park sharing your life story (box of chocolates and all).
