If there’s one thing we didn’t have on our 2025 bingo card, it’s a mini fridge inspired by a pastrami sandwich. But thanks to the bevvy geniuses at Rocco and the culinary legends at Katz’s Delicatessen, we now have exactly that — and somehow, it feels like a match made in LES heaven. For their new collab with NYC’s most iconic deli, the Rocco Super Smart Fridge is now available in a limited-edition “Subway Orange,” dressed in a color that’s as tangy and unforgettable as the first bite of their mile-high Reuben.

Rocco, already known for its ultra-intelligent drink fridge (which basically moonlights as our single favorite bar cart replacement), is releasing just 1,000 units of their Rocco x Katz’s Super Smart Fridge, infusing some Big Apple style into the typically staid world of stainless steel. And in true New York fashion, the first 75 customers to order get a custom Katz’s deli kit inside: hand-carved pastrami, corned beef, and Dr. Brown’s soda, delivered straight to their home via Katz’s nationwide shipping program.

Rocco’s new fridge is a showpiece for anyone who thinks their living room could use a little more character, with the bold orange colorway being a tribute to NYC’s past and present. It’s a nod to the iconic subway seats being phased out this year, and to the teams that’ve played for generations of fans. It launches at a moment when the city is already awash in orange, between the epic disappointment of a deeply exciting Knicks playoff run, to the start of another hopeful Mets season.

“We’ve had countless requests for orange, and the timing felt right. The subway seats might be on their way out, but we wanted to preserve a piece of what they meant to New Yorkers,” said Alyse Borkan, co-founder of Rocco in a statement. “Pairing that with the city’s love of sports and partnering with Katz’s, a place with as much legacy as the Knicks themselves, felt like the most New York thing we could do.”

The Rocco Super Smart Fridge has been a staple of the tiny living room of our similarly compact NYC apartment for two years now, and we can’t imagine entertaining without it. The finish has a subtle, vintage gloss that gives off a retro-cool energy that fits right in to lofts with exposed brick and 100-year-old tile. With separate temperature zones, it can also keep your sodas chilled (or your lox cool, if you’re into that kind of thing), and your wines at the ideally crisp temp with independently controlled compartments. But what’s just as impressive as its temperature control is its sheer capacity — your Rocco can hold up to 27 wine bottles, 88 cans, or a combination of both.

The connected app’s patent-pending “Sight System” also lets you “peek” inside your fridge, which shows you every item currently in your Rocco thanks to an object recognition database. This let’s you order more La Croix online or make a quick liquor store run if you find yourself dangerously low, all without even having to crack open the door. But this exclusive “Subway Orange” colorway practically dares you to put in more than just another Dr. Brown’s can — stash leftovers in your fridge! Shove another tupperware full of pickles in there! Jake Dell, owner of Katz’s Delicatessen even said, “This collab is weird (in the best way), and that’s exactly why we love it.”

If your living space has been craving something deliciously different, the Rocco x Katz’s collab is a fridge worth the splurge, and available now on RoccoFridge.com. Better act fast though — just like a Katz’s lunch rush, these fridges won’t last long.
