The Sex Pistols and Frank Carterhave some bad news to share.

On Friday, guitarist Steve Jones broke the news to fans that he had broken his wrist and that the band would need to postpone their upcoming run of North and American shows that had been slated to kick off on Sept. 16 at Dallas’ Longhorn Ballroom.

“I’ve got some good news and bad news. What do you want first?” wrote Jones in an Instagram post. “Okay, the bad news: I’ve broken my wrist, so unfortunately we won’t be doing any shows for a while.”

On the other hand, the musician said that the “good news is the surgeon said I will be back playing guitar in the not-too-distant future. The other good news is I’ll be 70 tomorrow!” Before ending his message, he said, “God bless, and God save the wrist.”

Along with the group’s North American concerts, their shows in South America have also been postponed and will be rescheduled when Jones fully recovers. More information will be shared on local venue websites and social media.

The Sex Pistol’s 50th anniversary tour lineup features Jones, bassist Glen Matlock, drummer Paul Cook, and Gallows singer and new vocalist Frank Carter performing the 1977 punk classicNever Mind the Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistolsin its entirety, including other tracks from the band’s catalog.

The tour was set to be the band’s first North American performances since 2003, when its members took the stage with original frontman John Lydon, a.k.a. Johnny Rotten.

Lydon has bashed his former bandmates reunion tourwith Carter, calling it “a clown’s circus at work” in an April interview with the Independent. “Sorry, I’m not going to give a helping hand to this any longer, as far as I am concerned, I am the Pistols, and they’re not.” In another interview withNME, Lydon said the concerts were little more than “karaoke presentation.”
