Most content has moved to on-demand streaming services, but plenty of shows, events, and sports are still available exclusively through traditional cable TV channels. That’s why many viewers now include a live TV streaming service in their arsenal, but there are two (related) problems: One, these live TV streaming services are expensive, usually costing between $50 and $100 a month. Two, many people don’t need these cable streamers all the time. If you’re just trying to watch a single event — be it a TV special, a big game, or a weekend-long golf tournament — signing up for a month of live TV streaming can feel wasteful.
That’s why Sling’s new short-term passes are such good news. The new short-term streaming options from Sling allow streaming customers to sign up for a day, a weekend, or a week of live TV streaming at a heavily discounted rate. That means you can tune into that game, award show, or any other event without shelling out for a full, month(s)-long subscription.

What Are Sling’s Short-Term Packages? Pricing, Options
Sling’s new short-term plans get you access to the popular live TV streaming service for a limited time, ranging from 24 hours to seven days. There are no binding contracts, and they all cost less than a lunch out.
Sling is offering three different short-term plans, including the Day Pass, Weekend Pass, and Week Pass. Here are pricing details for each:
Day Pass, $4.99: Get 24-hour access for big games, award shows, or movie night.
Weekend Pass, $9.99: Get access from Friday to Sunday. Ideal for a weekend of games (like college football kickoff) or movie/TV marathons.
Week Pass, $14.99: Get seven days of streaming. Great for a week-long tournament or live TV streaming while on vacation.
Sling Extras add-ons are also available with your short-term pass. These add-ons deliver more channels in certain categories, including more sports, news, or entertainment channels. The Sports Extra add-on, for example, delivers Golf Channel, Tennis Channel, NBA TV, NFL Redzone, and other channels.
