Saturday Night Live‘s Weekend Update addressed Friday’s contentious Oval Office meeting with Donald Trump, J.D. Vance and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, as well as Elon Musk‘s latest demands of the federal workforce.
Co-anchor Colin Jost, after showing Trump repeatedly telling Zelensky that he is “gambling with World War III,” joked that the meeting went “pretty good.”
“Thanks to that meeting, now you actually can gamble on World War III on Fan Duel,” he added.
“Trump repeatedly scoldedZelensky, telling him, ‘You havereal problems,’” continued Jost. “Yeah, man!He’s in a war!No one’s asking to borrowmissiles so they can take theparty to the next level.”
Jost then noted that the Ukrainian leader said later that day during a Fox News interview that he believed he could still salvage his relationship with Trump. That, Jost joked, “is like Justin Baldonisaying, ‘I’d love to work withBlake again.’”
Michael Che then turned to the AI-generated video from Trump depicting bearded belly dancers, a hotel bearing his name, and him and Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu lounging on a beach in Gaza.
“The video was titled, ‘ISISrecruitment ad,’” Che joked.
Regarding another AI-produced video, this one of Trump kissing Elon Musk’s feet that reportedly showed on internal television monitors in the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Jost commented, “You can tell the video is AIbecause in it, Trump is able tobend.”
Jost also commented on Musk, the head of Trump’s so-called Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), who appeared at the Conservative Political Action Conference last month wielding a chainsaw and wearing sunglasses.
“Elon Musk, seen here lettingketamine take the wheel,” Jost joked as a photograph of the billionaire showed on screen, “sent an email to federalemployees telling them to listfive things that I did last week, or they would be fired–which was easier for Elon to dobecause all five of his were,‘Got a lady pregnant.’”
Musk’s 14th known child was announced Friday by Shivon Zilis, a Neuralink executive with whom Musk now has four children.
