After weeks of speculation, it’s official: former Tottenham Hotspur captain Son Heung-Min will join MLS club Los Angeles FC. The record-setting deal will reportedly see LAFC pay $26 million for the superstar, who captains the South Korean national team and helped lead Tottenham to the 2025 Europa League title.
Following the record-setting signing, Son’s official jersey is already available to buy. Son will keep his #7 number, which he wore with the South Korean National Team and Tottenham. The official jersey is available in the LAFC’s primary black and gold and away white colors.

Son Heung-Min played with the Spurs for a decade, becoming one of the club’s all-time leading goal scorers. The 33-year-old has 173 goals and 101 assists for Tottenham in all competitions, and hoisted the Europa League trophy following the team’s win over Manchester United.
Son will join his former Tottenham teammate and current LAFC goalkeeper Hugo Lloris. Lloris served as the Hotspurs captain until 2023, when he left the club and was replaced by Son.
Son played his final game with Tottenham just last week, in a friendly against Newcastle at the Seoul World Cup Stadium. The game, which ended in a 1-1 draw, saw Son exit the match with an emotional goodbye to his teammates on the pitch.
Son’s tenure with Tottenham helped elevate the club’s profile in South Korea and among Koreans, and is likely to do the same for LAFC. Los Angeles has the largest Korean population in the US, and the largest outside Korea, according to Pew Research Center.
