'Squid Game: The Challenge' Season 2 Is a Fight of Betrayal for $4.56 Million in New Trailer

The second season of Squid Game: The Challenge is promising a high level of thrill — and a whopping $4.56 million. On Thursday, the Netflix show shared its first trailer for its second season, which captures players living their Squid Game fantasy, without the death part, but with the high prize.

Like the first season, 456 people will compete for the huge jackpot on “the ultimate test of strategy, alliances and endurance as they compete for a life-changing $4.56 million prize.”

The trailer teases a dad-daughter competitor pair being separated, and one contestant revealing their girlfriend is expecting a daughter before clarifying in an interview with production that “this baby doesn’t exist.” The trailer teases spicy fights, insane games, and twists.

“In this game, loyalty can get you pretty far,” says one contestant in the trailer. “But betrayal can win you $4.56 million.”

The show will premiere its first episodes on Nov. 4, with new episodes on Nov. 11 before the grand finale on Nov. 18. The synopsis for the series teases “New players. New games. New rules.”

Nicola Brown and John Hay executive-produce Squid Game: The Challenge for the Garden, and Studio Lambert’s Tim Harcourt, Anna Kidd, Stephen Lambert, Nick Walker, Nia Yemoh, and Stephen Yemoh, are also behind the project.

At the end of last season, the producers spoke to Rolling Stone about the show’s casting, which received more than 80,000 applications. “You can’t tell a story like this unless you’re concentrating on a few characters,” Lambert said. “We knew we couldn’t do that. Whenever we started trying to focus on characters they would be eliminated.”
