Pride season is here and along with all the panels, parades and festive celebrations, it also means the return of Pride-themed merch and collections from (mostly) well-intentioned companies. One such example is Target, which has once-again curated a Pride Shop on its website, selling everything from see-through rainbow bags for events, to “Safe Space” doormats, along with T-shirts, home decor, kitchenware and even pet accessories.
But one piece of Target Pride merch has captured the attention of the internet, for being equally parts kitschy and compelling: a Pride-themed(?) charcuterie board.

Officially sold as the “It’s Giving Charcuterie Wood Board” (we had to read that twice too), the rectangular-shaped tray measures just under eight inches in length, which is the perfect size to get a good grip on your meat. A built-in handle helps you one-hand it as well, while a small opening allows the wood to be hung on the wall for easy storage.
The mini charcuterie board is ideal for Pride parties and wine and cheese nights alike, with just enough room for a few slices of cheese, cured meats and a couple of crackers.
Social media users, though, are divided over whether the Target Pride charcuterie board is a serve, or pandering to tired stereotypes. While some feel Target is unfairly capitalizing on Pride merch, others say the “It’s Giving Charcuterie” board is actually giving us some harmless fun.
Target reviewers are equally divided, with 50% of reviewers giving the Pride charcuterie board a full five-star review and the other 50% giving it a one-star rating. Either way, this Pride release is giving people a good conversation starter.
