Taylor Swift brought her Eras Tour to Hamburg this week. During the first of two shows at the city’s Volksparkstadion Stadium, the singer performed her songs “We Were Happy” and “Happiness” live for the first time.
Although it poured rain on the stage and audience, Swift made the most of the concert and used the surprise song section of the setlist to mash up the two songs. “We Were Happy” is a “From The Vault” song featured onFearless (Taylor’s Version) while “Happiness” appears on her album Evermore.
“So these next ones I’ve never played live,” Swift told the crowd. “So wish me luck.”
During the show, the singer also performed “Teardrops On My Guitar” and “The Last Time” on acoustic guitar as part of the surprise song section of the setlist.
Swift recently announced that the next single fromThe Tortured Poets Departmentwill be “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.” “We’re so depressed we act like it’s#ICanDoItWithABrokenHeart’s birthday every day!” Taylor Nation’s official account wrote on Instagram Tuesday, referencing the bubbly track’s lyrics. “But today is special because Taylor’s declaring it the next single from#TSTTPD! Lights, camera, bitch, listen to see the cute new cover on all streaming platforms.”
The Jack Antonoff co-produced track also marked the song during which Swift’s boyfriendTravis Kelcemade his onstage debut atthe Eras tour. Right before “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” began during a London performance, Kelceappeared in a top hat and tuxedo,grinning as he helped Swift, alongside her dancers, get ready for her next musical number.
Kelce later recalled pitching the idea of joining Swift onstage to the singer during anepisode of his podcastNew Heights,“I was just like, ‘What? I would love to do that, are you kidding me? I’ve seen the show enough — might as well put me to work here.’”
The Eras Tour continues in Hamburg tonight before heading to Munich. It then goes to Warsaw and Vienna before wrapping the European leg at London’s Wembley Stadium with five more shows.
