When Ultimate Ears first debuted the Wonderboom nearly five years ago, it became one of the best outdoor speakers that a music fan could get their hands on. Since then, the competition has only heated up, with more brands making audio gear that can hold up to the elements and deliver more immersive sound in one portable device. And now, Ultimate Ears has returned with its newest Wonderboom 3 speaker, now available to order online starting at $99.99.

The Wonderboom 3 portable speaker ups the battery power over its previous model, with up to 14 hours of runtime per charge. (That’s an extra hour compared to the still-excellent Wonderboom 2.) It comes in four colors total, including black, gray, pink, and blue, and the company says it used a minimum of 31 percent of recycled materials to make the new speaker.
But no matter which speaker you go with, each one comes with a waterproof design that you don’t have to worry about using outdoors. It has a IP67 rating, so it will still pump out your music even if it’s submerged in water for a half hour. In other words, it’s a must-have for music lovers who are heading to the beach and the lake alike.
Along with its water-resistant build, it’s also drop-resistant up to five feet, so even though it can produce serious sound quality and an impressive Bluetooth range, it’s actually one of the most durable outdoor speakers in the game.

Ultimate Ears also made it easy to pair two of the Wonderboom 3s together if you want to listen to your tunes in stereo sound, whether you’re camping or just hanging out with friends in your backyard. (However it’s worth noting that you can’t pair it together with a previous model, like earlier Wonderboom models.)
The new Wonderboom 3 comes with a 131-foot wireless range, too, so you can keep your phone on you and walk away without disrupting the music that’s playing from the speaker.
The latest Wonderboom release isn’t the only outdoor-ready speaker in its class. The new speaker joins a solid group of other recent portable speaker models, including the likes of the Sonos Roam SL, the Bose SoundLink Flex speaker, and JBL’s Flip speaker — all of which are water-resistant, retail between $100 to $200, and deliver big on sound quality without sacrificing portability.
You can now order the new Wonderboom 3 online, and it’s expected to ship later this month.
